There’s accommodation, and then there’s accommodation. And Mexico’s newest ultra-luxury stay on the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico falls into the latter category.

One&Only Mandarina is perched cliff-side overlooking the Pacific Ocean with some of the most dramatic views and lush rainforest backdrop known to humankind.

Here, 104 free-standing villas hover above the treetops and sit against the cliffs – each with a private plunge pool. Fifty-four private homes are also dappled across the naturally beautiful site, which was developed with botanists to ensure the minimal interruption was caused to the surrounds.

In this beautiful, remote setting, a choice of dining concepts will honour local flavours and culture. A Jetty Beach Club will serve up the day’s freshest catch, while an adults-only dining spot above the cliffs will showcase the talents of a lauded celebrity chef (to be announced) and present elevated Mexican cuisine.

The stay’s spa will feature six treatment rooms amid centuries-old trees, while a yoga and fitness studio and an outdoor gym will provide a place for restless travellers to blow off steam. Of course, ocean adventures will be on offer too – be it the private yacht variety or a spot of fishing.

Younger guests are catered for too with immersive experiences available – from horseback riding tours to low-key activities.
