Don your best togs, Queenslanders, this pop-up pool cinema is open for a limited time only.

Ditch the drive-in and hit the dive in: this month a ‘Float In’ cinema is opening in Brisbane’s CBD. For a truly immersive experience, film lovers can now bob about, cocktail in hand, while watching a classic water-themed film. The W Brisbane’s WET Deck will be transformed into an open-air, riverside theatre from Tuesday 25 February.

The five-week series will feature a line-up of movies that include water scenes, in keeping with the aquatic aesthetic. Guests can sit back on recliners, or slide into the pool to enjoy the films. Alongside cocktails, there’ll be cinema treats served on floating trays.

The dress code is ‘summer vibes, resort attire or swimwear’. Take your floating seat by 7pm for a 7.30 screening – tickets are priced from $25. To book your recliner, visit openaircinemas.com.au/brisbane/films
