American Express card members are about to get a brand new lounge at Sydney Airport featuring luxury amenities and a bigger food and drink offering.

Opening on 23 October 2019 near Gates 50-63 at Sydney Airport’s T1 International terminal, the new and improved American Express Lounge will be three times the size of the current lounge, spanning over 600 square metres with more amenities, dining options and relaxation spaces than before.

Members can soon access complimentary food and drinks with vegan, vegetarian and wellness options, plus an exclusive dining area and live cooking stations where guests can order from an a la carte menu. The new design will also feature a full service bar fuelled with craft and international tap beers and a bartender on hand to mix cocktails.

The luxury factor is being amped up with three shower suites featuring L’Occitane en Provence products and resting stations, plus high-speed Wi-FI and charging stations for business travellers. Flight information and a stash of local and international newspapers and magazines will also be available.

Global premium airport hospitality specialists Plaza Premium Group are behind the operation, which hopes to dial up the travel benefits for American Express card members.

“Airport lounge access continues to be one of the most valued benefits for our card members and we know from the success of our lounges around the world that travellers appreciate the stress-free environment, complimentary dining, and luxury amenities that our American Express Lounges offer,” said Naysla Edwards, Vice President of Brand, Charge Cards and Experiences at American Express A/NZ.

The new American Express lounge at Sydney Airport is one of 1,200 American Express lounge operations around the world in over 500 cities. For more details, visit www.americanexpress.com.au/airportlounge.
