Australian ballet run online dance classes during coronavirus quarantine period

Does this mean we can bake more banana bread?

There’s nothing wrong with comfort eating. Especially under our current frightening AF conditions. And with some of the country’s best restaurant and fast food chains delivering hot and cold running cheeseburgers, it’s natural to gain a few pounds. Or as it’s been aptly named in the US: the quarantine 15.

But if you’re your favourite iso-leggings getting a little snug, and the treadmill (or indoor surfing) just isn’t for you, then the Australian Ballet has the answer.

They’ve launched a series of online dance classes for all ages and experience levels, as a “gift from the national ballet company to all Australians.” So you can learn ballet from the comfort of your living room, no matter where you are.

The program runs for nine weeks, with a new class dropping every Thursday, from April 9th. Each class is 30-40 minutes long with the bulk of the lesson spent at the barre (or dining table or couch-back, as the case may be.)

Even if you’ve never danced before, the company reckons that their beginner classes will have you pirouetting in no time.

The best part? Now that you’ll be burning all those extra calories, you’ve got an excuse to bake more banana bread.
