Hello blossom.
The cool temperatures have well and truly set in for the year, which means it’s an ideal time to gather your group for a weekend filled with winter essentials: red wine, warming food and fresh eucalyptus-scented air (brought to you by some of the nation’s best National Parks). Rug up, and get your gang together for the ultimate in group getaways:

- Creel Lodge, Kosciuszko National Park
A roomy mountain chalet overlooks the intriguing Lake Jindabyne puts your group front and centre for a weekend of adventuring, and climing Kosciuszko. A large kitchen and outdoor fire presents an idyllic setting for sipping wine and sharing recipes.

- Myer House, Mimosa Rocks National Park
This architecturally designed house has been restored by the Myer family (yes, the retail people). On the banks of the Wapengo Lake – great for kayaking and canoeing. There’s also a tennis court, for those who feel so inclined

- Reids Flat Cottage, Royal National Park
Perfect for a speedy escape, Reids Flat Cottage in Royal National Park is just an hour south of Sydney’s centre. The beautifully refurbished heritage cottage is as private as they come, and boasts an expansive deck overlooking the Hacking River. Kayaking is right on the doorstep, as is the famous Coast Track walk.

- Capertee Homestead, Capertee National Park
A small hop west of the Blue Mountains, a sweet homestead is conveniently close to Mudgee’s wine country. Wallabies, wombats, kangaroos and birdlife abound and a spacious barbecue area is ideal for cooking up a shared feast for many, before having a wine around the indoor slow-combustion fire.

- East Kunderang Homestead, Oxley Wild Rivers National Park
This 1880s-built home has been granted a new lease on life with contemporary mod-cons. Set in a picturesque valley, the homestead’s verandah presents a perfect spot to rug up and enjoy a taste of peaceful mountain life, while an open fire keeps guests warm on chilly nights.
