We hope we look this good at 100.
The breathtakingly beautiful stretch of road that spans Torquay to Apollo Bay is becoming a centenarian this week, and we could only hope to look this stunning at 100.
Many have driven its coastal track (6 million people a year, in fact), but few realise that the Great Ocean Road is also the largest war memorial in the world. Built by ex-servicemen and civilians, under very challenging conditions, the road today remains one of the most iconic and beautiful road trip destinations in the world.

From 18 September to 6 October, a series of celebrations will mark this milestone birthday. Filmmakers have produced a new documentary, ‘The Story of the Road’, which will screen at Lorne Theatre. Public art installations and cultural experiences will also be on display along the road.
Might it be time to fire up the road trip playlist and visit (or revisit) this scenic part of Victoria? We shotgun the front seat and full control of snacks.
