And the room service menu is nothing short of satisfying.
Convenience aside, sleeping above a pub has rarely been associated with the kind of holiday dreams are made of. And yet, this heritage-listed, inner-city Sydney pub is inviting us to rethink the concept.

Sydneysiders may well have strolled past humming Harpoon Harrys in Surry Hills and enjoyed a sustaining pub meal paired with a beer. But now, a clever makeover will see the venue’s upstairs sleeping quarters transformed into a dapper 20-room hotel.
The 1912-built structure has had a magical reimagining by designer Anna Hewett, who’s given each room personality, flair, and fun-filled colour schemes.

Staying the night means you’re bound to eat well, with executive chef Tom Walton on the pans downstairs, cooking the likes of sizzling scotch fillet, market-fresh fish and Harry’s well-known burgers. There’s also natural wine, cocktails and beer within reach.

Matt Whiley has reworked the mini-bar drinks offerings at the hotel – think bottled wattleseed negroni and lamington Manhattans created by Luke Whearty.
