This is not your average holiday home.

What’s that out on the water? From a distance, it may look like someone’s seaside home has come unmoored, but this is no driftwood. Lilypad is a luxury, members-only villa that’s just opened off the shore of Sydney’s Palm Beach.

Designed for overnight stays for couples, an intimate event venue or a relaxing day on the water, Lilypad is an exclusive experience – with only ten memberships available per year.

Chuck Anderson is the brains behind this thoughtfully designed, floating space. In order to ensure no footprint is left on its neighbouring beach, so to speak, Anderson has ensured his water-top house is powered by solar energy.

“Growing up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and spending much of my life around boats, I always had a vision to create something truly special that a lucky few will be able to enjoy as their own,” Anderson said.

So what does this exclusive membership include? Up to 18 annual uses of the Lilypad, a private concierge, luxury vehicle transfer, personalised venue preparation, private tender transfers to and from the pad, luxury personal vessels for motoring around Pittwater, welcome drinks, gourmet meals – including Victor Churchill ingredients – unlimited access to an onboard wine cellar and beer selection, and use of paddle boards, snorkel gear and a floating daybed. Members can also enjoy seaplane transfers from Rose Bay, a private chef preparing their meals, transfers to Jonah’s Whale Beach for dinner, onboard massages and beauty treatments.

And the question you surely want answered: how much does this membership cost? Packages are available from $3600 per month, for a 12-month contract.
