And it's in the city's foodie heart.
In time for spring getaways to the nation’s capital, a shiny new hotel will open its doors in central Braddon in September.
The 199-room hotel will feature a central garden atrium, original artworks, an indoor swimming pool, wellness centre, event spaces and a guest lounge. Excitingly, the Midnight Hotel will bring with it bar and restaurant too.
At the Midnight Bar, dark colours and dim lighting set a cosy scene for an evening’s repast. The bar’s food menu will feature locally sourced produce to enjoy alongside local and international wines, cocktails and beer.
The hotel’s executive chef, Andrew Morrow, says, “Midnight Bar will be a place where no matter your taste, you will find a drink that suits your style and personality and a dish to match.
“A bar menu that will feature many iterations of classic bar food, all the while allowing the worlds’ cuisines to influence how they present and pair with the beverage of choice. Crispy Chicken wings, cooked 5 times, can be found on the same menu as a Miso Consommé with Bottarga and Freshly Shucked Moonlight Flat Oysters.”

On the ground level of the hotel will be Braddon Merchant, which presents a sunlit, deli-style locale with a European air.
Morrow, says, “Braddon Merchant looks forward to delivering traditional techniques with a simple approach to food from areas around the Mediterranean. Our focus is on quality produce from small, independent and where possible, local producers.”
“Our philosophy is simple. We love good, honest food – so that’s what we’ll present. We welcome our guests like family, and want them to try something they may not have ever tasted, like our Tigelle and selection of salumeria from the deli, and be able to quickly connect with it, and fall in love with the offering.”
Part of a $200 million development, Midnight Hotel is owned and operated by independent hotel company, Iconic Hotels, and part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.
