There's more to this quiet stay than meets the eye.
Set across a sunlit 124 acres of sprawling farmland, Mona Farm is a utopian dream for those accustomed to the liveliness of urban life. And as far as farms are concerned, this one’s suitable for even the most discerning travellers.

In the regional NSW town named Braidwood, Mona Farm has undergone a 12-month transformation. The estate is now home to a unique collection of more than 20 sculptures by Australian and International artists.

The accommodation’s contemporary furnishings come from from Anibou, Space Furniture, Cosh Living, Curious Grace and MCM House – paired with inspiring artworks – bringing new charm to the historic farm house.

On the property are six buildings, each individually designed. In total, only 44 guests will be on the site at one time – once renovations are complete. The Homestead structure dates back to 1853 and The Coach House was built in 1903 – both have been carefully restored. Alongside these are The Stables, The Shearers Quarters, The Cottage and The Old Stables, which are currently being reimagined by architect Louise Nettleton.

Artists whose work feature on the property include Marion Borgelt, Adam Cullen, Fiona Hall, Bill Henson, Isaac Julien, Janet Laurence, Guy Maestri and Anna Willi-Highfield. And, The Coach House, which once housed Cobb and Co coaches, houses works by Sally Anderson and Frank Bauer.
Eight acres of award-winning gardens swathe the farm, where century-old trees elicit a sense of calm. Guests can enjoy meandering through the elm forest, and spotting sculptures dappled throughout the landscape. There’s also a croquet lawn and hidden rose garden on site.

Still a working farm, the property is also shared by the majestic beasts that are Scottish Highland cattle, English Wiltshire Horn sheep, Wessex saddleback pigs and imposing Clydesdale horses. Bee hives have also been set up on site. In the lake, rainbow trout, long-necked turtles and platypus have been known to play.

Over the lake a Roman Palladian-style bridge sits, and, nearby, vegetable gardens and chickens abound. The property’s Wool Shed had been transformed to create a function space – ideal for large-scale events. As for the food? Private chefs are available on request. Bookings become available this month, February 2019. For more information visit monafarm.com.au.
