The new hotel entrance that's clearly seeking attention.

If the first impression is a lasting one, then The Star Sydney’s new entrance in Pyrmont is set to etch itself into the memories of all who witness it.

A $65 million refurbishment has seen the entrance brought to life with an all-new bar, luxury retail stores and one very entrancing arrival ‘experience.’

The entrance has now been unveiled, featuring an interactive indoor light and digital art area of the foyer. According to the hotel, aptly named ‘Grand Foyer’ will greet an average of 20,000 guests per day.

More than 6,000sqm of stone and marble have been laid out in the Grand Foyer, which is, astonishingly, comparable to the size of The White House.

Chief Operating Officer, Dino Mezzatesta, said ‘Architecture, contemporary art and technology have converged to form an iconic showpiece that delivers a unique, unexpected and dynamic arrival experience for our guests.’

The new foyer includes a 25-metre, 8K resolution, crescent-shaped screen that is set to display the works of emerging and established Australian artists, students, cinematographers and animators. Over the space of a year, the ‘digital canvas’ will feature 8,736 hours of content.

Additionally, the feature column in the lobby features an entire kilometre of stainless steel strips –  equivalent to the height of three Eiffel Towers combined. And, there are 4,800 decorative gold rings in the opulent new foyer.
