NSW
Are NSW borders open?
NSW borders are currently open to all Australian states and territories, with no NSW entry declaration required.
Are there any travel restrictions within NSW?
You do not currently need to register to travel within NSW, and travel restrictions between Greater Sydney and regional and rural NSW for holiday or recreational visits no longer apply.

Can I travel to NSW if I’m not vaccinated?
Victorians who are over 16 years and not fully vaccinated are not able to travel to NSW for a holiday or recreation. You can learn about travel within NSW for vaccinated people here and travel within NSW for unvaccinated people here.

ACT
Are ACT borders open?
Currently there are no restrictions for people travelling to the ACT from SA, NT, Tasmania or WA.
NSW and Victoria are classified as high-risk geographical areas, so what travellers from these areas are required to do is dependent on their vaccination status.
Travellers who have been in NSW or Victoria in the last 14 days and who are fully vaccinated are permitted to enter the ACT. But you must complete an exemption form within 72 hours of your intended arrival into the ACT.
Unvaccinated travellers from high-risk areas must not enter the ACT unless they obtain an exemption before arriving.
There are currently exposure locations in Queensland, so travellers from these locations are advised to check here for details.

Queensland
Are Qld borders open?
Currently there are no restrictions for people travelling to Queensland from WA, NT, or Tasmania.
From 1am on Monday December 13, the Queensland border will reopen to fully vaccinated people travelling from Victoria, NSW and South Australia (currently declared COVID-19 hotspots) by road or air.
If you’re entering Queensland from a declared hotspot, you will be required to provide evidence of a negative PCR test, taken within the 72 hours prior to crossing the border. You’ll also need to complete a second test five days after arriving in Queensland. As long as you meet these criteria, quarantine is not required.
You will need to apply for (and receive) a Queensland entry pass. You must do this even if you’re a returning Queensland resident.
When you apply for the entry pass, you’ll be asked where you have been and then you’ll be guided to the appropriate pass type. If you need more information about specific entry rules, you can find more information here.
Are there any travel restrictions within Qld?
Queenslanders can travel anywhere within the state, or outside of Queensland that is not a declared hotspot.

Victoria
Are Victorian borders open?
Yes. All states and territories across Australia are “green zones”, which means there are no testing or quarantine requirements. But if you are entering Victoria from another state or territory, you will still need to obtain a permit from Service Victoria before you arrive.
Are there any travel restrictions within Victoria?
No. You can leave home for any reason and travel anywhere in Victoria.

Can I travel to Victoria if I’m not vaccinated?
People who are over 16 years and are eligible to be vaccinated, but are not vaccinated may have some restrictions in what services or venues they can access.

Tasmania
Are Tasmanian borders open?
Tasmania’s border entry conditions depend on where you have spent time before your day of arrival.
Areas are assessed as either low, medium or high-risk based on public health advice. If you’re travelling from a high-risk area, you’ll need to quarantine in a government-managed quarantine facility or “suitable premises”.
SA, Qld, NT and WA are currently classified as low-risk (with some alerts for high-risk premises).
Victoria, ACT and NSW are all classified as high-risk.

South Australia
Are South Australian borders open?
Currently travellers from the ACT, NSW or Victoria are prohibited from entering SA.
Anyone travelling from Qld, Tasmania or Western Australia is permitted to enter South Australia without restriction as long as they have not been in a restricted zone in the past 14 days.
Vaccinated arrivals from the NT can enter South Australia with level 3 requirements (COVID-19 test on day 1, 5 and 13; self-quarantine until negative test results, no entry into high-risk settings and no entry to events for more than 1000 people).
All travellers coming to South Australia must complete the Cross Border Travel Registration form on the SA Police website before you travel.
From Tuesday 23 November 2021, SA will reopen its borders to fully vaccinated people coming from all other Australian states and territories.
Are there any travel restrictions within South Australia?
Travel is permitted within most of SA, however, some Aboriginal communities, such as the APY Lands, have specific border restrictions.

Western Australia
Are WA’s borders open?
Currently only Qld and Tasmania are classified as very low-risk jurisdictions by the WA government’s controlled border system. Before travelling to WA, visitors from these jurisdictions need to complete a mandatory G2G Pass registration and declaration, complete a health screening on arrival, scan your G2G Pass to exit the airport. There’s no quarantine required for these travellers.
From 12.01am on December 3rd, border restrictions with South Australia have been tightened, after it was deemed a ‘medium risk’ jurisdiction. For medium, high and extreme-risk jurisdictions (currently ACT, NSW, SA and Victoria), you are not permitted to enter without an approval through G2G Pass.
Are there any travel restrictions within WA?
Regional travel throughout most of WA is allowed. However, there are travel restrictions to remote Aboriginal communities to protect the health and wellbeing of residents.

Can I travel to WA if I’m not vaccinated?
From Monday 15 November 2021, approved travellers must be fully vaccinated to enter WA from a low-risk jurisdiction.

Northern Territory
Are the NT borders open?
Currently the ACT, NSW and Victoria are declared COVID-19 hotspots, so visitors from these jurisdictions are not permitted entry to the NT.
Visitors from Qld, SA and Tasmania are free to enter the NT.
Any person who has been to a WA ‘public exposure site’ and arrives in the NT must check the website daily and comply with directions.
All arrivals to the NT must fill in a Border Entry Form. For all information and links go to the interstate arrival and quarantine page.
Are there any travel restrictions within NT?
If you live or stay in the rest of the NT, you can travel freely within this region. However, until 11:59pm Monday 8 November 2021 Greater Darwin and the Municipality of Katherine, including Tindal, are subject to a lockout.

Can I travel to NT if I’m not vaccinated?
