An $80 million dollar redevelopment will bring new life to Sorrento's iconic Continental Hotel.
Sitting proudly on a corner of picturesque Sorrento in Victoria, with its waterfront view, a 1875-built limestone heritage trust building is about to be returned to its former glory.
The significant revamp – an $80 million-dollar redevelopment – is set to bring a new public bar and bistro, a fine-dining establishment and a sparkling wine bar to the scenic Mornington Peninsula region in September 2019.
Luxury accommodation with a focus on wellness, entertainment and recreation offerings will also be a major part of the makeover. Additionally, the venue’s grand ballroom will be restored, retaining its original architectural details. Construction has now commenced. The project is being led by local developer Steller along with Julian Gerner of the Melbourne Pub Group.
