Forget camping, we’re all about glamping these days. The far more luxurious take on tents is for those among us who prefer their creature comforts to getting down and dirty in nature. Mudgee recently welcomed its first (and only) luxury eco glamping experience in the form of Sierra Escape, a premise that has proven so popular that the group has welcomed an additional two luxury tents to its collection – the Dulili (meaning together in aboriginal) and Uralla (home on the hill). The tents sit just 20 minutes outside of Mudgee’s town centre, on a 280-acre property overflowing with wildlife and rolling hills. The tents themselves are made from high quality material, well-insulated for warmth in winter, with large windows to access the breeze. There’s bathtubs for soaking, open fires for toasting those marshmallows and even decks attached to the tents for sipping on those Mudgee wines you’ve collected during your stay. Most importantly all tents come equipped with a large bathroom complete with shower and flushing toilet – not what you’d expect to see in tents of yesteryear. Sierra Escape’s collection of tents range in size depending on your group (and demands) but all greet guests with a complimentary bottle of bubbles, and a picnic hamper of local goodies to make your stay all the more enjoyable.
