The Adelaide Hills will soon home to one of only a handful of six-star luxury lodges on mainland Australia, with Sequoia Lodge setting its official opening date for November 2020. After a temporary pause to construction due to COVID-related restrictions, work is finally continuing on the ultra-luxe $15 million lodge making its home in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia.
Ultra-luxe new Sequoia Lodge in the Adelaide Hills to open in November
Here’s what you can expect from South Australia’s newest six star property.
Exclusive access
The lodge is named after three giant California redwoods planted by the original owner (and Hardy’s Verandah namesake), Arthur Hardy. When it opens in November, Sequoia promises its guests access to all of the 30-acre estate’s exclusive amenities, including Hardy’s Verandah restaurant, Arthur Waterhouse Lounge and the lavish Stables Day Spa.
Unique food and wine experiences
Food and wine are set to take centre stage at Sequoia, with rare winemaker-hosted lunches and private vintage tastings just a few of the bespoke experiences being hinted at when Sequoia welcomes its first guests in November.
Bespoke services
Equally enticing is the promise that guests will be able to enjoy personalised experiences with some of South Australia’s most iconic luxury brands, including private tours of the RM Williams factory, complete with personalised boots or a visit to nearby Jurlique Farm, from which the lodge sources some of its luxurious guest products.
Breathtaking surroundings
Interestingly enough for nature-lovers, the surrounding Mount Lofty Ranges which are home to one of Australia’s largest koala populations, are currently under consideration as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Opening in November
Yet another reason to add Sequoia to your post-pandemic bucket list? They’ve made a point of connecting with the Indigenous custodians of the Adelaide Hills land. Guests of the lodge will be able to savour Indigenous stories by campfire light while enjoying glass of Adelaide Hills’ iconic pinot.
