Adventures from the comfort of your couch.

Anyone who’s ever harboured aspirations of growing up to become Indiana Jones will jump at this opportunity to take a virtual tour of a pharaoh’s tomb.

Like many international destinations, Egypt has launched its own initiative aimed at inspiring future travel post-pandemic.

The Experience Egypt From Home campaign includes a series of brand new immersive experiences of Egypt, including several in the tomb of Pharaoh Ramses VI – the discovery of which dates to between 1189 and 1077 BC and is widely credited with the later – world-famous discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922.

The virtual tour includes opportunities to see incredibly well-preserved paintings and writings, including funeral rites that were intended to aid the king’s journey into his next life.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is hosting a range of immersive virtual travel experiences, which you can explore via their Instagram feed.
