Turn that stopover into a stay. A tiny house ‘village’ is set to open on Singapore’s Lazarus Island

Tiny, but mighty.

Singapore’s idyllic Lazarus Island has always been a favourite day trip for locals and tourists alike. A short 15-minute boat ride from neighbouring Sentosa Island, Lazarus Island is the perfect spot to escape the Singapore heart and take a dip in the pristine waters to cool off. Come May, for the first time ever, visitors to the island will be able to stay the night.

Tiny Away are setting up five tiny houses that will make a ‘village’ of homes, all of which will be eco-friendly and low carbon emission accommodation. Solar energy will be the main source of power for all your modern musts like split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, bathroom, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

High-tech food waste recycling systems in partnership with Singapore startup, Westcom Solutions, will reduce and recycle food waste from guests. The entire tiny home experience on Lazarus Island has been carefully designed to ensure visitors enjoy their stay while respecting the environment and leaving the island unscathed.

Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island will also feature a multi-purpose space dubbed ‘The Glasshouse’, which will offer guest amenities, cooking facilities and the chance for guests to enjoy the great outdoors while mingling with other island-goers.

While most guests will want to take advantage of the calming location to kick back and relax, others looking to explore can do so by bike, which will be available for hire. There will also be non-motorised water activities that will launch in June.

We feel a Singapore trip is on the cards.
