Aussie chef Gary Mehigan has narrowed his list down to five unmissable activities in India.
1. Get a street food tour in Mumbai. Get in and eat all the classics: Pani Puri, Bell Puri, Pav Bhaji, Pupdi Chat, and Chicken Tikka
2. Jaipur’s Amer Fort is a must-do. Spoil yourself and stay at Tree of Life, which is a place of unexpected tranquility – just beautiful, and a world away.

3. Hyderbaad: visit the Taj Falaknuma Palace, so much history, opulence and the most amazing view across Hyderbaad. Nazami grandeur! While you’re there, eat Biryani at Bawarchi’s in Nallakunta.

4. Go for the Riff Festival at Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. Here, it’s all about incredible artists coming together to celebrate creativity, and you never know who you might see there. Mick Jagger has been a patron of the festival in past years.
5. Delhi Spice Markets, Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square), are the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi – but make sure you take a scarf to cover your mouth for the chilli section. The Red fort is located in the middle of the market, which is worth a look in its own right too.
