Old-world British fare gets a contemporary remake.
Iconic, historic and enviably beautiful London hotel The Goring is synonymous with old-world sophistication. And, for the first time in 109 years, it has opened a new restaurant with a celebrated chef at the helm of its kitchen.

Siren is the brainchild of CEO Jeremy Goring, who wanted to present guests and diners with a casual dining option. The result is a seafood-focussed restaurant inspired by his family’s ties to Cornwall. With lauded chef Nathan Outlaw on the pans, Siren showcases the best and brightest in Cornish produce alongside fresh seafood.

The Goring’s Bar, complete with a grand piano, will be pouring signature cocktails in the neighbouring room. In its concoctions will be herbs plucked fresh from the hotel’s flourishing garden.
The setting offers diners a view over the hotel’s private gardens. And despite its youth, the new dining and bar area retains the hotel’s famed vintage charms – blending seamlessly with the existing spaces. The architecture and interior design for both spaces has been completed by the renowned Russell Sage.

The food is decidedly British with a contemporary execution. A refined entree menu features the delicious likes of cured monkfish with ginger, fennel and yoghurt, and cuttlefish black putting with apple and kohlrabi. For mains, dishes include Turbot herbed and battered with warm tartare sauce, or red mullet with devilled shrimp butter and chicory. Then there’s the lobster grilled over fire with herbs and garlic, grilled with whole monkfish for two.

For dessert? Quintessential British flavours have been given new life with gooseberry pavlova and custard ice-cream, and a strawberry tart with yoghurt sorbet. The bar will also be serving delicious bar snacks and substantial bites alongside its beverages.
