Test your balance with this adventurous ride.
Yogis who take their practice seriously are bound to have tried the likes of hot and aerial yoga, but New Zealand has taken the beloved, back-bending exercise to new heights with ‘heli-yoga’
What is heli-yoga?
Before you start wondering about the logistics of doing yoga inside a helicopter, or worse, swinging from one, believe us when we tell you that heli-yoga is not quite as extreme as it sounds.
The emerging wellness trend, hosted by Reid Helicopters and Kokoro Studio, is a two-hour adventure that sees guests board a private helicopter and take a scenic flight into Kahurangi National Park in Nelson.

Once landed, on a secluded mountain location, a yoga instructor will guide you through a series of mindful stretches. After a good stretch with a breathtaking backdrop, you’ll fly to the South Island’s north-west coastline and land on a private beach for a full, private yoga session. Like all good travel experiences, this one ends with food – in the form of a gourmet picnic lunch on the beach.
