The reopening marks the end of its strict COVID-19 measures, which have been in place since March 2020.

New Zealand’s international border has officially reopened for the first time since originally closing its borders against the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic back in March 2020.

It’s the last step in NZ’s reopening plan, which commenced back in February when it began to welcome returning citizens and wrapped up on Sunday July 31.
