With 196 countries in the world, there’s a lot of places to get to in one lifetime. But not all travel destinations are created equal it seems, with 10 spots, in particular, standing out from the rest in terms of popularity. TripAdvisor recently revealed the results of its Travellers’ Choice Destinations unveiling 10 top-rated international destinations that holiday makers are turning to time and time again.

Taking out the top spot for this year? Bali. The complete top ten stands as follows:

1. Bali, Indonesia
2. London, UK
3. Paris, France
4. Rome, Italy
5. New York City, United States
6. Crete, Greece
7. Barcelona, Spain
8. Siem Reap, Cambodia
9. Prague, Czech Republic
10. Phuket, Thailand

But it’s not cheap flights that catapulted Bali to top of the lust list. It’s the destination’s offerings that are ranks, with results were formed via the use of an algorithm that assesses reviews and ratings given to accommodation, restaurants and attractions in each area.
