Co-owner of SHUK, Yoni Kalfus spills his secrets on the best places to see, stay and devour delicious provisions in Israel.
To stay
Beresheet Hotel, Mitzpe Ramon. An incredible hotel set on the worlds biggest natural crater in the desert (not far from the Dead Sea).

To visit
Dead Sea – salt lake bordering Israel, the West Bank and Jordan that is situated more than 400m below sea level. If you like the heat it is a must.
Ein Gedi – an oasis and natural springs close to Masada and the Dead Sea.
To eat
Gouje and Daniel – a farm to table restaurant set on a kibbutz outside of Tel Aviv. You always leave feeling relaxed and very well fed.
Rothschild 12 in Hertzl 16 – a late night bar with live music almost every night of the week and great food. The new location has a great Asian fusion restaurant attached too.
Dellal Bakery in Neve Tzedek – always gives good inspiration for our bakery back here in Aus and they do the best snails ever. My most frequented bakery in my favourite neighbourhood in Israel.
Machne Yehuda (the restaurant) at Jerusalem’s largest market, Machne Yehuda (an establishment and for good reason)
Hotel Montefiore – a beautiful old heritage hotel with a great restaurant/cafe. Do the business breakfast for a little taste of everything.
