You can now buy the island from the Fyre Festival promotional video

Fyre Island

It will, however, cost you more than $16million to secure.

When it first appeared online, the promotional video advertising Fyre Festival – the major, ill-fated, falsely advertised event that went shockingly awry – went viral. Depicting some the world’s best known models, the footage showed a beautiful, tropical island: Saddleback Cay.

As we, and many unfortunate ticket holders, would soon discover, Fyre Festival would not take place on Saddleback Cay, but on an island hundreds of kilometres away. It was also advertised as an island owned by Pablo Escobar, which was also false. But now, the island that made music history in the promo film is for sale. And, naturally, it comes with a heavy price tag.

According to Forbes, the island is on sale for roughly AUD$16,783,140.

Fancy throwing a festival of your own? The HG Christie real estate website and Sotheby’s International Realty website, are listing the island, which was made more famous by a Hula and Netflix documentary on the failed festival. The island also comes with a main house plus smaller guest or staff houses.
