We’ve found you the ultimate tour guide.
For the foodie, a holiday is often punctuated with visits to the most renowned eateries of their chosen destination – no matter whether food stall or fine dining establishment. But no matter how much research you do before departure, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to match the knowledge of a chef.
Which is why you can now take a trip with Guy Grossi in tow thanks to a new partnership between the beloved Italian chef and luxury accommodation group Leading Hotels of the World. Guy has amassed an impressive fan base in Australia thanks to his appearances on TV (including My Kitchen Rules) as well as his Melbourne eateries Grossi Florentino in Bourke Street Melbourne, and the Venetian-style Merchant in Collins Street.
His latest venture takes a slightly different tact – it is an immersive travel experience that sees Guy accompany a group no larger than 20 in a 10-day journey across Italy. There you will explore the best of the nation’s history, culture and cuisine. The trip begins in Tuscany (L’andana to be exact) and travels through Florence, Emilia-Romagna, Bologna, Modena, and Milan. Guests will not only taste their way across the different regions (and in some Michelin-starred restaurants), but be able to lay their head in one of the luxe hotels that belong to the Leading Hotels of the World group.
The trip will include four cooking classes, dining experiences at one, two and three-star Michelin restaurants, an exclusive private dining experience at Osteria Francescana (ranked No. 1 in ‘The World’s 50 Best restaurants in 2016’), and an exclusive meeting with Chef Massimo Bottura at Osteria Francescana.
The gastronomic experience is intended to be held across two separate 10-day periods – from May 21-31, and from August 20-30. Bookings can be made online.
