A 1950s Californian Bungalow-dressed bar by the name of Flat Stanley has arrived in Bali – and brings a bounty of West Coast chic in tow.
Devil in the details
This Palm Springs-inspired restaurant is located in Petitenget, Seminyak, and comes adorned in retro relics and vintage finds throughout.
Flavoursome fare
The menu at Flat Stanley is as neo-American as its interiors, merging Californian favourites with local Balinese produce. Diners can enjoy a range of pizzas, including Peppered Salami; a concoction of crushed tomato, mozzarella, roasted onion, spicy salami and locally-made mozzarella or The Truffle; a bevy of crushed tomato, fontina, and mixed mushrooms, all drizzled with Italian white truffle oil.
Beyond the dough
Beyond the pizza, Flat Stanley also serves up sharing boards, small plates, vegetables, salads, and grilled meats to accompany its sourdough pizzas. Among the dishes are Hanger Steak and Fries, and a Mac & Bleu Cheese. Dessert includes a Nutella Snickers Bar (pictured) and an Espresso Panna Cotta.
Cosy dining at its best
The 120-seat mid-century modern space was designed by EDG Design, a firm based in Singapore and San Francisco.
Glasses half full
Craft beers, world-renowned wines and more than a few cocktails will keep guests busy making decisions about which to sip.
In the kitchen
At the helm of Flat Stanley is chef Matt White, a self-proclaimed ‘dough head’, who started Alt. Pizza and Extra Virgin Pizza in Singapore.
Fancy a slice?
Prior to his passionate affair with pizza, Matt worked with industry heavyweights Michael Mina and Wolfgang Puck. Flat Stanley has seen him partner with the Roopchand Brothers (co-founders of Hong Kong favourites The Pontiac and Rummin’ Tings) as well as The Dandy Partnership (founders of Singapore’s Fat Price and Neon Pigeon) to form the new collaboration. Ready to book? Flat Stanley is open daily from 12.00pm to 11.00pm.
