A significant overhaul and restoration of the famed Raffles Hotel Singapore, part of the Accor family, began in February 2017. After years of careful work, the hotel reopened on August 1.

Alexandra Champalimaud,supported by Aedas (a leading global architecture and design firm) led the major project of giving this iconic hotel a new life.
Historic luxury
First opened in 1887, the luxury hotel (complete with its famed butlers) was declared a National Monument a century later by the Singapore Government in 1987.

What’s inside? All-new suite accommodations, across nine categories: State Room Suites, Courtyard Suites, Palm Court Suites, Personality Suites, Residence Suites, Promenade Suites, Grand Hotel Suites and Presidential Suites.The total suite count has risen from 103 suites to 115.

The design team have also reimagined the event and social spaces throughout the hotel – including places to meet, shop, dine and celebrate.

New restaurants bring big-name chefs, including Anne-Sophie Pic, of the three-Michelin-star Maison Pic in Val ence, France; chef Alain Ducasse; and chef Jereme Leung. And, at the refreshed Long Bar, visitors can continue to enjoy the hotel’s famous cocktail, the original Singapore Sling, along with the tradition of tossing peanut shells on the floor.
