If Wes Anderson was tasked with designing a polished London bar, we think it would likely resemble The Bloomsbury’s Coral Room. Sitting pretty on the edge of Soho, the salon-style bar is inspired by the 1920s and was designed in collaboration with Martin Brudnizki. Bold coral-swathed walls encase a warm space where glass chandeliers, a slick marble bar and gold accents form an Instagrammer’s dream cocktail setting.

Step back in time in a space where dim lighting, an inviting outdoor terrace and cosy lounges mark the spot. Influenced by 1920s and 1930s London, and positioned in the centre of literary Bloomsbury, The Bloomsbury Club Bar is inspired by the lives of the renowned, hedonistic Bloomsbury Set. Here, decadence is key and cocktails are expertly prepared.

Make yourself at home in the grand hotel’s sitting room, where you can warm yourself by the fireplace – with a quality read in hand – as many have before you. With walls adorned in ornate wallpaper, soft lamp lighting, comfortable chairs dappled throughout the room, and familiar literary portraits gazing upon you, this room is ideal for a quiet moment away from London’s busy streets (and perhaps some envy-inducing Instagram fodder while you’re at it).

Despite the London drizzle, it always feels like spring at The Bloomsbury’s visually pleasing Dalloway Terrace, which becomes a popular brunch spot on weekends (especially among the food-blogging brigade). Crisp monochrome furnishings sit alongside verdant shrubbery and fresh, vibrant floral arrangements in a glass-encased area where the outside meets the inside. Better yet, the classic British food offerings are just as pretty as they are delicious.

It’s time to take the ultimate ‘shelfie’. In this charming corner of the hotel, book lovers will be beguiled by the shelf-covered walls filled with classic tomes in this swoon-worth library. A long table running down the centre of the room, forms a perfect space for meetings and intimate events with like-minded literary lovers.

Of course, it would be remiss of us to neglect the chief purpose of the hotel: its accommodation. And, believe us, few hotels could rival the plush, refined and luxurious styling of The Bloomsbury’s rooms. In particular, its suites bring enchanting, bygone glamour forward for a new age in spacious sleeping spaces that you will likely find hard to leave. At least there’s always your camera roll to remind you of the good life.
