When it comes to dining, you wouldn’t expect less from Burj Al Arab hotel’s luxurious restaurant, Al Mahara. The restaurant is centred around an enormous floor-to ceiling feature aquarium, with seafood of course being chef, Nathan Outlaw’s specialty.
Located in the lobby of the Raddison Blu in Berlin, while not technically an underwater restaurant, Atrium Bar features the world’s largest cylindrical aquarium. The feature-piece is filled with more than one-million litres of water and contains over 1,500 fish.
Located 16-feet below sea-level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island hotel, Ithaa Undersea Restaurant holds the very new-age title of being the world’s first all-glass under water restaurant.
Aptly named Sea, this underwater restaurant is one of six dining opetions at the Maldives’ Anantara Kihavah Villas. Meticulously places mirrors around the restaurant make you feel as if the ocean is surrounding young.
While it may not be the first underwater restaurant (Ithaa beat you to the punch), Subsix located on Niyama Private Islands in the Maldives, is the first underwater nightclub. The venue is only accessible by boat from Niyama Private Islands and sits more than twenty-feet below sea level.
