From the sky, The Lindis is almost invisible – blending effortlessly into its beautiful natural setting in Ahuriri Valley (on New Zealand’s South Island).

The beautiful new lodge took two years to build in this uniquely stunning part of the world – surrounded by mountain country, wetlands, tussock lands and beech forest. Now open on Ben Avon, a 6000-acre (2428 hectare) sheep and cattle station, The Lindis has become a luxury destination for those seeking a truly peaceful getaway.

A distinctly New Zealand-inspired menu is served beneath a blanket of stars, and, so far, five individual lodge suites, within the main lodge building are now available for bookings. A second stage will see three more suites open in 2019.

To achieve the seamless blending of architecture and nature, natural materials – including natural rock and timber have been used in its construction. Inside, elegant furnishings and artworks create a comfortable yet sleek environment.

In summer, guests can look out over sprawling green fields, while the winter months see a layer of soft white snow swathe the valley. Throughout the year, in the high country location, gliding, fly fishing, hiking and horse riding experiences are available for those who wish to explore.
