If you’ve often harboured fantasies of becoming a real estate mogul, but you can’t seem to find a way around those darn Aussie property prices, we have good news: There’s a Monopoly theme park coming to Melbourne.

Monopoly Dreams is a $20 million indoor theme park based around the board game, and it’s slated to open in Melbourne Central in late 2022.

The Melbourne attraction will be only the second Monopoly Dreams theme park in the world. The original opened in Hong Kong back in October of 2019.

Split into two sections, Monopoly City and Monopoly Mansion, the theme park will span a total of 15 attractions, and is expected to attract some 600,000 people annually.

The Monopoly City portion of the theme park will be based on the Melbourne city layout, even incorporating trams and aesthetically pleasing street art. Guests will enter by passing ‘Go’ (obviously) via an illuminated passageway and compete to roll a double with enormous dice.
