It’s a hard pass from us.
It’s been dubbed the world’s longest bus journey. Spanning 22 countries, the 56-day-long tour will drive passengers from Istanbul through the Balkans, eastern Europe, Scandinavia and western Europe before finishing in London. Indian expedition company, Adventures Overland, is the brains behind this epically-long bus tour.
Highlights of the trip include a ferry crossing on the Gulf of Finland, a visit to the North Cape, a cruise along the Norwegian Fjords. The entire package costs around $37,000 (AUD) with daily breakfast, 30 lunches and dinners, and all hotel stays included.

While you may shudder at the thought of having to spend two months on a bus, the tour company promises a comfortable experience for passengers. All seats can be reclined, with lots of legroom. There’ll also be AUX and USB ports to connect your tech to, a foldable tray, along with bottle and cup holders. The bus can seat 30 passengers at a time and allows each guest to bring two full-sized suitcases with them.
Wondering who would choose to travel for so long on a bus? Perhaps those nostalgic for the 50s and 60s and wanted to recreate the journeys of the Hippie Trail buses that traversed the world. Tbh, some things are best left in the past.
