Aldi has launched a huge sale on camping gear for this weekend, and although outdoor holidays aren’t yet an option for many Aussies, there’s still plenty of excitement over the epic deals on offer.

In fact, there’s been so much excitement since the sale was announced earlier in the week, that the German giant has opted to remove several of the most sought after items from its NSW stores in lockdown areas to minimise potential queues and congestion around its stores.

The discount supermarket chain will drop its camping essentials Special Buys on Saturday August 28, so if your outdoor accessories could do with an upgrade, then some of the items on offer could pique your interest.

Among the most in-demand items is a $129 camp swag, which comes with its own high density 5cm thick mattress.

Made from heavy duty ripstop canvas, with a durable reinforced vinyl floor and lightweight poles for easy packing and transportation, the spot-on Kings dupe will sell for a fraction of the usual price. Elsewhere, similar swags retail for between $160-$400.

Among the other sale items of note, there’s also a $50 water repellent cotton-lined sleeping bag, to keep you cosy on your next outdoor adventure and a $15 heavy duty cast iron grill for your summer cookout needs.

There’s even a $70 Gazebo Hub: a small tent with a generously sized main door that connects to a large covered outdoor verandah. With in-built insect resistant mesh, power cord entry points, two internal storage pockets and heat sealed taped seams, it’s essentially a camp kitchen, lounge room and patio in one.

As well as the camping special buys, the supermarket  also has two heavily discounting fishing rod sets, fishing tools and some hefty canvas storage bags, so if you’re yet to grab a Father’s Day gift, then this could be a chance to reclaim your status as the golden child.
