The final top 20 list was selected based on seven criteria: presentation, taste, value for money, professional reviews, customer feedback, access to the venue and the atmosphere of the place.

The final list is wide-ranging in many aspects. Geographically it covers spots from as north as Inverness and as south as Brighton. In terms of the type of establishments the top 20 list includes quaint country pubs as well as Michelin-starred establishments.
