Another Bluestone Lane opens in Nolita.
They were the cafe that put the avo smash on the NYC food map. Now, Australian hospitality brand Bluestone Lane has opened a new outlet in Nolita following their colossal success.
Since opening their doors in 2013 in a humble basement on Third Avenue, Bluestone Lane’s signature Aussie cafe experience has been embraced the nation over, leading to 40 additional openings in seven cities in just five years.

The concept was founded by Melbournian Nicholas Stone, born out of a desire to introduce NYC to Australian cafe culture – that is, a place to linger with your artisanal coffee in hand and virtuous bowl before you. Sure, their signature avocado smash is the house-favourite, but there are plenty of other Aussie stalwarts here that have been given a subtle New York makeover, like a kale and egg brekky bowl, toast with Vegemite and butter, and even banana bread.

The Nolita opening will seat 80 over indoor and outdoor tables and will up the design ante with a circular marble bar and hanging cane mobile, which Stone says is in line with the region’s strong art and design ties.
“We consciously wanted to create a more elevated feel for our Bowery Cafe, considering the area’s long association with the arts and fashion.”
The menu will unveil new items including a burrata and berries bowl and a Bondi chicken salad sandwich.
Bluestone Bowery Cafe is now open at 19 Kentmare Street, New York.
