Paradise is calling all Canberrans.

It’s been three long years since Fiji Airways has touched down in Canberra, but good things come to those who wait. The capital city is the newest destination to join Fiji Airways’ comprehensive network of direct international services.

As of today, escaping the could just got a little easier for Canberrans. No longer having to transfer through another capital city, Fiji Airways will be taking off from the ACT and landing in paradise twice a week.

The new direct service will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing Canberra at 1.35pm and arriving in Nadi at 7.40pm, with a flight time of four hours and five minutes. Return flights will also operate on Fridays and Tuesday, departing Nadi at 9.30am, with wheels down in Canberra at 12.35pm. The total duration of the return flight will be five hours and five minutes. Meaning you can book a long weekend in Fiji or spend a whole week there depending on your preference.

To celebrate the inaugural flight that takes off on July 21, Fiji Airways is offering guests an incredibly introductory rate. Return Lite airfares start from just $539 and are available until July 31. Travel dates are up to May 2024, so you can travel in winter or summer.

With temps hitting negative zero in Canberra this winter, a trip to Fiji sounds ideal right about now.
