The brews cruise beer lovers will want to board.
Bowing to the demands of a growing number of cruise passengers seeking craft brews over generic ‘house’ beers, Carnival cruise Line has canned its own range of private label beers for its beer-loving guests.
Brewed by Colin Presby and an in-house brewery team aboard Carnival Horizon and Carnival Vista, the new brews will be served across the line’s entire fleet. Right now, the three beers are available by the can on Australian-based ship Carnival Spirit – and onboard Carnival Splendor from December.
‘ThirstyFrog Carribean Wheat’ is an unfiltered wheat beer with orange and spice notes, while ‘ParchedPig West Coast IPA’ embodies traditional India Pale Ales with its hoppy flavours, alongside citrus and pine aromas. Lastly, ‘ParchedPig Toasted Amber Ale’ boasts a rich amber colour, with toasted caramel and biscuit notes.
Edward Allen, Carnival’s Vice President of Beverage Operations, has said “We are pleased to be the first cruise line to scale up its beverage operations by canning and kegging our own beer. My hope is that our Australian guests will enjoy a refreshing beer on the top decks and then take a four-pack home with them to share with family and friends as a tasty reminder of their cruise.”
Since 2016, when the cruise line introduced the first North American Brewery at sea, the company has served nearly 300,000 pints of its private label craft beers.
