London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and Zurich will be the first destinations.
Emirates has announced they will recommence some outbound international passenger flights from April 6. The company had previously suspended international flights to prevent the ongoing spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic, in response to a UAE directive issued on March 27.
The first flights back on deck will be from Dubai to London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and Zurich.
The flights will operate from Dubai International airport Terminal 2, until further notice, and will only carry outbound passengers from the UAE.
According to a statement, the company plans to operate 4 flights a week to London Heathrow, and 3 flights a week to the other cities. However, as there are strict entry restrictions still in place for many of these destinations, as well as many others across the globe, travellers are strongly encouraged to check with local embassies prior to travelling.
“These initial passenger services, although limited to travellers who meet the entry requirements set by the destination countries, will be welcomed by our customers seeking to return home to their countries and families,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group.
“We would like to thank the UAE government and all our partners for their support in ensuring the smooth operation of our flights.”
Further information can be found on the planned post-suspension flights on the Emirates website.
