Luxury has a new home in Tokyo.

Tokyo is only the eighth city in the world to welcome an illustrious Bulgari Hotel and it is sky-high luxury at its best. Occupying levels 40 through 45 of the Tokyo Midtown Yaesu ultra-skyscraper, the hotel offers stunning views of the city, including Mount Fuji in the horizon. The building is also within walking distance to the iconic red brick Tokyo Station, financial districts of Nihombashi and Marunouchi, and set amidst the vibrant shopping area of Ginza.

But its prime location isn’t the only thing it has to offer. This 98-room hotel is a masterclass in blending Italian luxury with Japanese tradition. There’s touches of Japan found throughout, like ishi-doro (stone lanterns), Japanese art, a private rock garden, pine trees and sleek and simple design elements that reference traditional ryokan. Glimpses of opulent Italian design can be seen throughout the use of marble in bathrooms and furniture designed by Maxalto, Flexform and B&B Italia.

This fusion of cultures is also reflected through the food and drink offering. Sushi Hoseki – a restaurant concept already present at Bulgari Resort Dubai – seats only eight diners and is helmed by Japanese chef Keni Gyoten, who has been awarded three Michelin stars at Sushi Gyoten. The menu is omakase style, meaning the chef will dictate what you eat and create a menu from the finest ingredients from Japan.

While seats are limited at Sushi Hoseki, it doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in a decadent meal. Il Ristorante – Niko Romito plates up contemporary Italian cooking in a restaurant that overlooks the city and welcomes up to 80 guests.

On level 45 is where you’ll find the Bulgari Bar and the best place to take in the sunset. There are two half-covered outdoor terraces from which you can take in sweeping views of the city surrounded by an array of yuzu and lemon plants, reminiscent of Japanese and Italian traditions.

The piece de resistance has to be the 1000 sqm Bulgari Spa located on level 40, where you’ll find nine treatment rooms and a 25m indoor pool with full view of the skyline thanks to floor to ceiling windows.

Brb, checking into luxury.
