Calling one of the world’s most prestigious and renowned wine regions home, the new-but-old COMO le Montrachet spans across three heritage buildings – all centred around a charming village square in the small town of Puligny-Montrachet.

The COMO team have carefully reimagined the a 19th century ‘place du village’ inn to create a contemporary version of the historical property, its first French property and newest addition to the global COMO portfolio.

There are just 30 individual rooms and suites to choose from, all elegantly imagined by designer and long-time COMO collaborator Paola Navone, who worked with a colour palette inspired by the Burgundy countryside, custom-designed furnishings and thoughtful contemporary touches to achieve the ‘esprit du lieu’, or spirit of place, for the luxury lodging.

That spirit of place doesn’t end in the rooms. A 90-minute drive from Lyon, or three hours from Paris, this idyllic property makes the most of its surroundings. Cooking classes, bicycle tours, scenic hikes and hot air balloon rides over the vineyards are all on offer, as well as private wine tastings and trips to local wineries with the hotel’s own sommelier, André Berthier.

The hotel’s restaurant, Le Montrachet Restaurant opens on April 6, and is inspired by French gastronomy, hospitality and style, as well as the world-class produce available in the region. The menu, designed by Executive Chef Romain Versino, changes with the seasons to showcase the best ingredients from the local farmers and suppliers – with hyper-local wine matches on offer, too.
