Soak it all in.
Victoria is no stranger to luxury hot springs. The Mornington Peninsula welcomed the grand Alba Thermal Springs and Spa last year and it instantly became one of the hottest places to be in Victoria. It joined the Peninsula Hot Springs, an award-winning natural hot springs that continues to expand and open new springs.

So if soaking away your stress is your idea of bliss, then we have some good news for you. Victoria is scoring Australia’s largest-ever hot springs, 12 Apostles, opening in 2026. The $200 million 12 Apostles Hot Springs & Resort will span over a 79-hectare site and boast 70 baths and a 150-room wellness resort for those looking to make a weekend out of a visit. There’ll also be multiple onsite hospitality venues.
Hot springs purists will be happy to hear that 12 Apostles Hot Springs & Resort, located along the Great Ocean Road, will source its natural bath waters from geothermal mineral springs that sit one kilometre below the site. While Australia is not quite on par when it comes to natural bathing in Europe and Japan, the trend is definitely on the up Down Under.

While we still have a few years to wait until we can take a dip at the all-new 12 Apostles Hot Springs & Resort, why not try out the best onsen in Japan? Here’s our pick of the 6 of the best ryokan in Japan.
We’ll keep you posted as more details are revealed.
