Heading for a 2020-induced temper tantrum?

Mad at the world? Iso angries got you down? Need to let it all out? Iceland has the answer: scream therapy.

That’s right, we can all now take our pandemic frustrations out on the Icelandic void by recording our screams to be replayed in the wide open spaces of Iceland.

It’s all part of a new stress-busting campaign rooted in primal therapy, titled Looks Like You Need to Let it Out.

The campaign invites submissions from all over the world, citing the beneficial effects of primal therapies like screaming to give people an outlet for pent-up emotions such as anger and frustration.

“You’ve been through a lot this year,” says the campaign website. “and it looks like you need the perfect place to let it out. Record your scream and we’ll release it in Iceland’s beautiful wide-open spaces.”

The brainchild of London-based therapist and mental health advocate, Zoë Aston, the campaign invites participants to record their screams via computer audio and submit them via the website for broadcasting into one of seven locations in Iceland.

So far, more than 20,000 people have submitted their screams via the website, but if you want to scream into the Icelandic void for yourself, this week is your last chance. The campaign wraps up on July 29th.
