Ever fancied a nap on one of Ikea's display beds during an exhausting shopping haul? Here's your chance to stay the night.
Many have wondered what it might be like to hide in IKEA come closing time and use its display rooms as though they were your own overnight – surely we’re not the only ones who’ve dared to dream? Now, there’s a very real possibility you could spend a little longer and have a sleepover in the megastore.
Just this week the Swedish home goods store (and dining destination) announced the launch of its Swede Dreams Sleepover event – and if it doesn’t come to Australia next we think an angry mob might form outside its gigantic doors.

A small number of lucky IKEA Family members will be able to spend the night at one of two stores: IKEA Brooklyn, New York and IKEA Costa Mesa, California. And, to be frank, we’re willing to book our flights to make this happen.
The event will take place on World Sleep Day, 13 March, 2020. And, before the slumber commences, a number of activities and games will be hosted. There’ll be the likes of a silent disco and an ASMR experience designed to lull guests into a sleepy state.
The store will be holding a raffle, online, from 11 February. The winners will be announced on 24 February – and will be able to bring a guest of their choice along too.
