Talk about a rough landing.

It has been turbulent times for airlines post-Covid. The aviation industry has struggled with staffing issues and were ill-prepared for the travel boom that occurred after international and domestic borders opened. But travellers are the ones that have paid the price for it. Delayed and cancelled flights, lost luggage and soaring prices have left customers dissatisfied with the lack of quality service.

Especially when it comes to Jetstar. In a recent report by S Money, Jetstar was named Australia’s most hated airline and the third most hated airline in the world. Ouch. S Money determined these results by collating data from the official Twitter handles of major airlines and collected tweets that mentioned them. Using an AI sentiment tool, the tweets were analysed and airlines were given a positive or negative score. Jetstar landed a score of negative 67.5%.

But Qantas and Virgin Australia should also brace for impact as both major carriers received a negative 50% rating. So, what is Australia’s most loved airline, you ask? The top spot goes to Aviair, a small charter and passenger service based in WA that flies between Kununurra Airport, Broome International Airport and Karratha Airport.
