And it's touching down in a New South Wales town you mightn't expect.

Whether you’re an aviation aficionado or a fan of John Travolta, you might want to hot-foot it to Wollongong  in November. The hollywood star has been bestowed a flight permit to fly his Qantas 707 to the coastal city, where he will be donating his plane to the local aviation museum.

Once landed, the plane will become a significant part of the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society’s collection – and, naturally, a chance to snoop inside a famed private jet. And this is no average jet, either. The large private aircraft features a spacious, lounge area and bar. Here, Travolta’s celebrity friends have travelled in style to many an exciting destination.

It’s taken an astonishing two years of planning and paperwork to get the luxury Boeing 707 cleared to land in its new home since the donation was first offered. And in November, the plane will fly from the United States to Albion Park, where it will stay for good.

Travolta has cleared the full month of his schedule to manage the plane’s handover.
