And the winner is...*drumroll*

There are places you go to see amazing things and then there are places you go to eat amazing things. Sometimes these can be one of the same, which is perfect for those who love to explore and eat great food along the way.

Titan Travel, A UK-based travel booking company, has used data from multiple sources – Word Population Review data, TripAdvisor reviews and publications – to determine which 10 culture capitals have the best five-star restaurants in the world.

To no one’s surprise, Kyoto, Japan, topped the list. The city is famous for Kaiseki dining and serving local dishes like Kobe beef, sirloin katsu, tempura seafood and more.

Coming in second was Spain’s Grenada. The southern region sits in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains where you’ll be able to try traditional Grenada dishes like la tortilla del sacromonte (a type of omelette made with sweetbreads and ham), la pipirrana (a type of salad) and gazpacho (a cold tomato soup).

Surprisingly, Miami in the United States took the third spot. While many may think of the beachside city as a tourist trap, its food scene is fast on the rise as it showcases American, Caribbean and Latin American flavours.

Here are the culture capitals with the best five-star restaurants that completed the list:

  1. Kyoto, Japan
  2. Granada, Spain
  3. Miami, United States
  4. Cusco, Peru
  5. Prague, Czech Republic
  6. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  7. San Francisco, United States
  8. Edinburgh, United Kingdom
  9. Seoul, South Korea
  10. Taipei, Taiwan
