This new Melbourne boutique hotel is a cheeky millennial dream

Empire State of Mind: this New York hotel is a haven for the always-on millennial

A sprinkling of sass makes Moxy a playful accommodation choice for the young (and young at heart).

Designed with youthful travellers in mind, Moxy is an international boutique hotel chain that will be bringing its unique brand of chutzpah to Melbourne.

Set to open in 2021, Moxy Melbourne, in South Yarra, will present a playful accommodation experience at a millennial-friendly price. The 180-room standalone hotel has been designed by architectural firm Rothelowman.

Contemporary design comes to the fore of each Moxy hotel – and this one will see a high-energy lounge, 24/7 self-service grab-and-go food and drinks, and “furiously fast free wifi” brought to life.

A bar, ‘play spaces’, a co-working space, a meeting studio, a rooftop bar, a hotel gym and a large verandah will provide social-oriented areas.

“The next generation of travellers is seeking more than a comfortable bed and room-service burger. They want to stay in hotels with an approachable price point that offers bold, contemporary design and hyper-social experiences that tap into the local culture,” said Sean Hunt, Area Vice President, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International.

Moxy is the perfect fit for the curious and adventurous, and I’m thrilled we’ve found the right location and partners to bring this brand to Australia.”
