Check in to chill out.
The Whitsundays is no stranger to lush accommodations. Some of Australia’s most luxurious resorts reside in the island group. Think the InterContinental Hayman Island and, qualia, on Hamilton Island. While luxury resorts are lovely, the majority of us cannot afford to splash the cash on opulent stays on every trip to the Whitsundays.

Cue: The Sundays. This new 59-room boutique hotel will sit at the northern end of Catseye Beach and is set to open in Autumn 2025 and bring a new type of accommodation offering to the island. Designed with families in mind, The Sundays, will provide guests with interconnecting rooms, private cabanas around the pool for all-day lounging and a waters-edge restaurant and bar offering al fresco dining. Guests can choose between balcony or terrace rooms that boast views of the seas or gardens. Bliss.

While details around The Sundays are still under wraps while construction is underway, it will be a welcomed addition to the island for those looking to stay somewhere that is family-friendly, affordable and modern. Reservations for The Sundays will open Spring 2024, so if you’re keen to be first in, mark it in your calendar from now.
