There must be something brewing in those twisting, serpent-shaped waters of Brisbane right now, because the River City’s about to gain another design-savvy accommodation offering. Opening in November 2018, Ovolo The Valley is breathing new life into what was previously the Valley’s well-know Emporium Hotel.

A multi-million-dollar re-design of the space has seen the creative folk behind Brisbane’s newly revived Howard Smith Wharves, architecture firm Woods Bagot, reimagine the 103 rooms. Interestingly, its two penthouse suites are named Major Tom and Rebel Rebel in a nod to the quirk and creativity of Mr David Bowie. You’ll also spot artworks depicting the face of the artist throughout.

What about those free drinks? Well, alongside the free breakfast, wifi, laundry and mini bar provisions included with each stay, there’ll also be free happy hour drinks daily.

Guests can also enjoy 24-hour room service, a rooftop swimming pool, a gym and a sauna. Former Brisbane dweller turned New Yorker, Chloe Want from AvroKo, will be at the helm of the hotel’s restaurant and bar.
