Why this trip will instantly top wine lovers’ bucket lists

Millbrook

Here’s why an immersive new WA wine experience has wine connoisseurs talking.

Red wine stains aren’t the only thing on Australian wine lovers’ lips right now. There’s a new experience that has fine wine appreciators talking, too.

A leading WA hotel has teamed up with the renowned Millbrook Winery to create a unique wine-oriented experience. Now, those staying in Perth’s COMO The Treasury can skip the six-hour drive to Margaret River wine country and take a scenic helicopter tour over the Swan River and Cottesloe Beach, landing at the winery estate among the forests of Jarrahdale.

Once at Millbrook, guests can partake in a wine-blending session – from which they can bottle and take home their own creations – then take a walking tour of the grounds.

Come lunchtime, Head Chef Guy Jeffreys will serve up his thoughtfully curated seasonal menu at the Millbrook restaurant, where much of the ingredients are sourced from the winery’s own gardens. Here, more than 100 varieties of heirloom vegetables, stone fruit, citrus, figs, apples, herbs, free-range eggs and olives (not to mention the all-important grape vines) flourish on site. Even the honey is collected fresh from the property. And, of course, each dish is designed to pair perfectly with Millbrook’s award-winning vintages.
